Our counsellors support our patients through treatment to help you understand what the treatment involves. They also work with you to consider how it may affect you and those close to you, now and in the future. All our treatment packages include two counselling sessions, to support your emotional wellbeing as well as your clinical care. All our fertility support counsellors are members of the British Infertility Counselling Association (BICA).
Counselling can give you:
- the opportunity to talk freely and openly
- the chance to explore feelings and sensitive issues that are troubling you
- help in understanding the factors that may be contributing to your difficulties
- support in finding your own solutions and new ways of coping
Anything you share with your counsellor is treated as confidential unless there are exceptional circumstances.
All HFEA-licensed clinics have to offer you an opportunity to talk to a counsellor about the implications of any suggested treatment before you consent to it.
